Notes from the Editor:

Welcome to issue 138 of the Liberty Basic Newsletter

Well it is that time again - another Liberty Basic Newsletter, another month slipped by somehow. I hear from some folks that they don't even bother keeping a calendar around anymore - they just watch for the next LB News to know that another month has come and gone. Just who are these people is all I want to know…

Sometimes when I am writing this I think about the famous Tappet brothers on NPR here in the States. They do a hilarious automotive talk show that deals with just about anything automotive and most things that are not. At the end of their show they say:

"Well you have done it again - wasted another perfectly good hour listening to us…"

Well thanks to our fantastic contributors, all is not a waste here at Number One LB Drive at the impressive Liberty Basic News Tower! Well that is the good news - the bad news is you only have another 29 days to consume this issue before anther one hits the streets!

We have some fantastic articles this month - Alyce keeps turning them out, updating and improving Eddie - the Liberty Basic based code editor. This month she customizes the interface with CodeAChrome - adding syntax coloring and other great features. You need to be following this series - it is in the top of its game!

Janet has another exciting and amazing StyleBits article, this time focusing on Scrollbars - is there nothing she can't do with a StyleBit and a few lines of code?

Gordon has contributed a couple really nice ariticles, including another in his series of Liberty Basic for the Disabled themed articles. Gordon always presents us with insightful and fun programs and discussions. I know you will enjoy these.

I was thinking just today (yeah Nally - that explains the smoke!) about the newsletter. It is fantastic - almost 140 issues and still going - still presenting fresh material. I really enjoy editing the newsletter and seeing the great things people are doing with Liberty Basic. I know we have had some good suggestions for articles recently, and the staff is hard at work on getting some articles put together.

We welcome your articles too. They need to be well thought out and presented in a clear and concise manner. If you have something you are really itching to say - drop us a line. We can work with you or provide guidance. Check out the information below on submitting articles.

Al lot of effort goes into the newsletter each month, but I always think that Janet does the most work. She is too humble to accept the accolades but here they are none the less: Enormous thanks and credit goes to Janet who puts in long hours editing, proofing and even formatting many of the articles. And she finds time to write an article or two as well - way to go!

Please do us a really big favor. We know you access the newsletter. We believe you actually read it now and then. When you do, drop us a line. We like to have comments posted to the forum [http://libertybasic.conforums.com/index.cgi?board=feedback], but if you are shy you can PM us as well - you know. We want to know what is working and what is not. What helped you and what should we include more of?

Thanks and enjoy another fantastic issue of the Liberty Basic Newsletter

- Brad Moore
